I’m back in Jerez today, taking the tour at the Gonzales Byas winery, famous for its sherry – Tio Pepe (uncle Pepe) is probably its best known brand, although the bodega produces the full family of sherries including finos (just great served in ice in summer), manzanillas (try with seafood), dry olorosos and amontillados, and Pedro Ximénez, one of my favourites – rich and sweet, wonderful with puddings.
González Byass back in the 1830s by Manuel Maria González Angel and his British agent Robert Blake Byass. It’s worthwhile taking the tour – touristy but still the best in the city. They have a great shop too!
