Jamón, Queso, vino y aceite – a new gourmet store in Marbella

This is a new gourmet store I have discoved in Marbella; simply called 'Jamón, Queso, vino y aceite', Ham, cheese, wine and olive oil, this store specialises in organic, artisan foods. The cured hams are delicious, the owner Chris invited me to try some – from Dominguez Manzano. The ham are distintively drak, as tehy come from the pure breed pigs with black skin that feed on oak acorns. The meat is covered in salt and then later hung to cure for at least two years.

The oils are from Jaen and the cheeses are from various regions.

There is also a small wine collection. I tried a lovely, fruity, summery white from Granada and also bought a few bottles of sparkling rose, from Alicante called 'Marina espumante rosado' from the Bocopa Winery.

In these tough times, it's important to support local retailers, especially those focusing on local, artisan foods – so head down when you are next in Marbella.

The store is in Urb. Marbella Real, number 7, opposite the restaurant Villa Tiberio on the Golden Mile (Boulevar Alfonso Hihenlohe). They ship nationally and internationally – more info on +34 683393030
