A friend recommended we try this relatively new eatery in San Pedro; and I’m really pleased they did. The small town, west of Marbella is not well served with creative restaurants, but Knut’s brings a contemporary twist to some classic Spanish dishes.
I found the ‘Rollitos de rabo de toro, con salsa de ciruela’ (crispy Asian style spring rolls, filled with slowed cooked bull’s tail, served with a plum sauce) really tasty.
The ‘Vieras con risotto de mascarpone’ (scallops on a bed of mascarpone risotto, served with a theatrical foam on top) was excellent, if just a tad over seasoned with salt.
We also had the ‘Maceta de esparagos’ (flowerpot of tempura asparagus) which was great too. House red was delicious and the service was friendly and efficient.
The bar/restaurant has a contemporary style, seems a little bare, but that not really noticed when it’s full of people.
The menu is chalked up on a large board covering one wall, behind the bar.
We had a really enjoyable evening and wish the place every success as it is good to see more stylish cuisine in the town.
