This week a powerful cold front swept across Spain, showering us with unprecedented amounts of snow; it even made it to Mediterranean coasts!
Much of Spain is more than familiar with harsh winters, and even here in Andalucia, we have one of the country’s most popular ski resorts, in Sierra Nevada, Granada province.
Yet last night’s snowfall was a surprise for many and ‘snow fever’ has swept Malaga province.
This afternoon we headed up in Sierra Blanca, the mountains behind Marbella to catch some snow before it melted and enjoy the atmosphere.
Many youngsters here had never played in snow before!
It was beautiful to see the olive trees amongst the snow.
Is this going to be the new normal? Who knows with climate change. Only a few days earlier the weather was mild and sunny.
