Last Tuesday was a day to set the phone to voicemail…
We escaped to Tarifa for lunch and then a walk along the beach at Punta Paloma. The coast of Africa is just kilometres away.
The beach many will recognise, Punta Paloma about 10km west of Tarifa on Andalucia’s Atlantic Coast. A huge sand dune is continually advancing. Grains of sand, driven by the ‘levante’ winds, are slowing driving through the landscape taking everything in their path including the pine trees….
This is me on the causeway between the port town of Tarifa town & the Isla de las Palomas, Spain’s (and Iberia’s) southernmost point.
Behind me is the Mediterranean, and the mountains of Morocco, north Africa; whilst a few metres in front of me is the Atlantic. This is where the ‘dos mares’ meet.
