Tarifa – on the way to Casa de la Siesta, a luxury rural retreat

Today we headed to the luxury rural retreat of Casa de la Siesta. I will be writing about this place later this month, so will post the article back here when it is published. The house has been lovingluy restored by Lee and Amelia and is a welcoming, relaxed retreat in the heart of Cadiz, near Vejer de la Frontera.

On the way we stopped off in Tarifa, the windy port at the beginning of the Costa de la Luz. As you enter the town you pass the small Cemetario Santo Cristo de las Animas.

It's a charming, if sad place.

The old town is a fascinating place with lots of ancient and vintage buildings in various states of disrepair.

The light was wonderful, and I particularly liked the contrast between the old and new architecture.
