Picking almonds – surprisingly therapeutic

This evening I enjoyed some peace and solitude, picking almonds from the trees around the cortijo. The temperature was so comfortable, the light warm and the air still.

I’ve been following the progress of the almond trees this year:

Here, in blossom in January:
