(Updated Oct. 2013 with additional photos)
Overlooking Mijas Pueblo and the tower blocks and highways of Fuengirola and Mijas Costa is this tiny chapel. It’s on a hiking route that takes you from the north of Mijas Pueblo to the summit of the Mijas Sierra. It’s a 3 hour or more hike, and challenging as of course it is a steep climb.
You take the road north of Miajs Pueblo, from the BP filling station, and it sweeps around to the left and climbs up around the town. On your left is parking, from where you can look down on to the village.
Almost opposite the trail starts – there is a small concrete path that climbs away from the road into the pines – take care crossing the road as traffic passes quickly through the bends.
The is new signage along the route, so now it’s not so easy to get lost.
Fuengirola – from the gloriously kitch and dramatic cinematic shorts, “Andalucia es de cine” – now available on DVD in English and Spanish.
Great photos, you seem to capture the essence of the area you have visited. The little white church in Mijas, Costa del Sol in its rural setting.
Excellent pictures, congratulations!!!
