Andalucia Diary – Seasonal Travel Notes

Salobrena – worth a visit – Costa Tropical, Granada

Although most of Salobreña’s old town has been rebuilt, the ‘old town’, which sits atop a prominence, overlooking rustic market gardens that spill down to the coast, still retains some charm.

We’re here, breaking our journey to Almeria. It’s a no frills stop over, and these usually are amongst our best days away. Fancy accommodation has been put aside in favour of a straight forward hostel, and what a friendly couple welcomed us at Jayma B&B. Javier and Manuela run a wonderful little bed and breakfast with free WiFi close to old town.

Salobreña

Salobreña is often overlooked, as it lacks the charm of say Frigiliana or the sophistication of Nerja but it is worth a visit.  We really relaxed and unwound. I enjoyed plenty of cold beers and a tasty steak in local bar and felt I’d been away for days.
