The latest art gallery to come to Malaga is the State Russian Museum of St Petersburg. Around 100 work from its prestigious collection are in Malaga at the prupose built gallery space within the ‘La Tabacalera’ complex (the former period tobacco factory that also now houses Malaga’s automotive museum).
The new gallery is known simply as Colección del Museo Ruso
The museum is over 2300 square metres and covers art from the 5th to 20th centuries – so a. pretty good primer for anyone wanting an overview of Russian art. I just found the gallery slightly uninspiring in its presentation, but the collection is really quite remarkable and the audio guide is excellent.
