Andalucia Diary – Seasonal Travel Notes

cafe con leche?

Anyone who knows me will know that since moving to Spain I have become addicted to coffee.  Once a weekly treat in the UK, is now a three-times a day habit.Dsc00163_edited

Not only has it meant we have invested in a really good coffee machine at home, but not a single meal out goes without a coffee to round things off.
Today I was up in the mountains and had lunch with a friend in the local venta and I spotted this list of coffees on one of those plastic napkin dispensers.
Each part of Spain has its own names for the different types of coffees – these are some of the Malaga province names.  The third cup of the day is normally a nube (cloud) or sombra (shadow) and lots of milk, served in a small glass with lots of sugar.
