La Vera de Cruz is renowned as one of the best eateries in the village. We discovered it by accident, as we were walking from our hotel to the village centre. It is a charming space, within a converted chapel.
The aesthetic is lovely, with dark wooden tables and chairs, rustic stone walls, Iberian tile, and Moroccan style lamps lit with candles.
We enjoyed courgette and courgette flower tempura with sea anemone; a Caesar salad and main dishes of slow cooked pig cheeks. The quality was excellent, but the flavours were very robust, and the salad dressing quite heavy. Wine list is good and service friendly and natural. I highly recommend this place.
