As a resource, I just wanted to quickly detail some of the forthcoming cultural fairs and events in Andalucía.
Feria de Abril – Seville’s annual fair
We’ve just had the fantastic April Fair in Seville, which really kicks off the season in style. You can read a feature of mine about the fair here.
Feria de Caballos – Jerez’s annual horse fair
Then there is the Jerez Feria de Caballos – the Horse Fair. I prefer this one, as it is much more open and less elitist than Seville. Details here. You can read a feature of mine on the fair here.
Feria de Puerto de Santa Maria
Right now is the Festival of Fino sherry in Cadiz Province, in Puerto de Santa Maria – as we are in spring it’s time to start enjoying ice cold fino and those refreshing rebujitos!
Corboba’s Festival de los patios – Flowering Courtyard Festival
Of course Cordoba is one of Andalucía’s most popular destinations in May, with the Cruzes de Mayo festival of beautiful floral crosses, and the Festival of Patios, where many of the flowers filled private courtyards of the city of open to the public.
Romeria de Virgen de Rocio – Pilgrimage of Rocio
In Huelva Province one of the world’s greatest pilgramages kicks off on May 19 – the Romeria de Virgen de Rocio – wonderful spectacle of colourful caravans, people dressed in vintage clothes, plenty of music, song and food!
Malaga Film Festival
For readers in Malaga, remember that it’s the city Film Festival this week, so even if you are not into going to the picture, head into the city as the atmosphere is great!
