Montes de Malaga Natural Park – feels like Spring

A chilled day in the pine forests of Montes de Malaga Natural Park, to the north of the city.

We barely into March and already the temperatures are like Spring. It was 22 degrees in the Sierra and the orchids and wild flowers and butterflies are out much earlier than normally.

The Butterfly here is a Spanish Festoon (Zerynthia Rumina) and these aren’t normally out till April or May.

At the end of the afternoon we headed to the beach – it was 24 degrees on the coast!
