Andalucia Diary – Seasonal Travel Notes

Tenerife

Greetings from Tenerife. I’ve managed to use a PC in the hotel here to upload some pics taken here in Tenerife.  I’ve been selective in what my lens has captured as the built environment here is absolutely dire. Ironically, its not just the tourist infrastructure that is an eyesore; as these areas are quite limited.  It’s mainly the ugly houses and acres and acres of plastic covered banana plantations and fish farms in the coastal waters that have played havoc with the island.

However the undeveloped natural environment is amazing – what hasn’t been concreted over is covered with cactus and succulents and as one climbs higher one reaches the national park.  It is quite amazing to see the volcano.
