Tarifa is the gateway to the spectacular beaches of Spain’s Costa de la Luz – and I’ve discovered a new place to stay in the bohemian, relaxed port city.
It’s called The Riad.

This intimate property is found in a quiet, dside street in the old town. With only 9 rooms, you are assured a friendly, personal welcome. The look and feel of this small guesthouse/hotel reflects Tarifa’s unique situation, where Africa almost touxhes Europe.

Expect a relaxed, informal, boho chix experience – this is one of the most laid back towns in Spain. I would have liked to have seen better wine in the bar, and a little more attention to detail in overall presentation, but at the end of the day, this is a really charming place to stay – and the beaches are fabulous!
