Casa de Pilatos – hidden architecture of Seville’s old town

The spectacular Casa de Pilatos in Sevilla is another example of the extraordinary palatial homes that lie behind high walls and huge wooden doors of the city’s old town.

Seville was once at the centre of one of the world’s greatest trading economies in the world, and the wealthy created magnificent homes and gardens.

This Palace dates back to the 15th century and has since been modified, based on the architectural fashions of the passing centuries; resulting in a mix of mudejar-Gothic, Renaissance and romantic styles.

If you take the guided tour of the first floor (no photos:) you’ll discover that the family liked to collect plenty of Italian fine art.
