Again I’ve been introduced to a new place to eat in Malaga.
This city is always full of surprises; not just new openings and acclaimed eateries but vintage restaurants tucked away in some not yet fashionable neighbourhoods.
Today we visited Restaurant ‘Al-Yamal’, an Arab, North African restaurant in the transitional neighbourhood now christened ‘SoHo’.
The restaurant is hard to find, on a quite city block, but the interior is full of charm; this is a family restaurant with authentic food.
We enjoyed a flavourful vegetarian couscous, wonderful roasted pepper salad ( homemade, the textures and flavours were perfect); humus with flat bread and lamb skewers.
What’s more, the great thing about eating Arabic food in a Christian democratic country is that you can wash it all down with plenty of wine!
The meal was rounded off with refreshing mint tea with orange blossom – wonderful.
